FINISHED HOMES

House Number 22

The building of a new home for our newest Habitat family was a labor of commitment and dedication for the Habitat for Humanity volunteers. Overcoming the almost incessant rain in the spring it all came together one week in August to take the house from foundation to under roof. After that it was a piece of cake!!!  Leading the activities were George Banton, Dick Keeney, Ed Stahl, Millard Stimpson and Rod Loving.  Thanks to all who volunteered or offered their services at a discounted or special rate.  If anyone who participated in a significant way is left off the following list, it is not intentional: Allison Banton, David Moseley, Paul Grey, Ned Kable, Wally and Myndi, Tony Mc Bride, Nancy Herr, John Pelissier, Tanya Henry and her family, including her grandfather, Eddie Ellis, Casey Grey, Guy Brewer and Sweet Briar students, Joan Villenueve, Lee Taylor, Larry McDaniel, Teresa Peters, Linda Gentry, Felecia Sorrells, Vance Leggett and Old Dominion Job Corp students, Lee Bryant, Ron Sweeney, Judy Mayberry, Lewis Addison, Scott Cabell, Whirlpool Appliances, Wesley Woods, of Myers and Woods Appraisals, Steve Martin, and the Sweet Briar Campus Chapter.

Special thanks to Guy Brewer for coordinating the dedication ceremony on November 16, 2003. Thanks also to David Moseley, George Banton, Ned and Lynn Kable for taking part in the program.

Amherst County Habitat for Humanity is very appreciative all of all who worked, contributed and discounted to make a new home possible for another Habitat Family.
